Description

Lovingly restored for driving pleasure, this 1973 MGB (last year of the chrome bumpers!) has been completely sorted by the previous owner to be enjoyed out on the roads. -Engine was rebuilt roughly 6000mi ago, at the cost of $9000 (ton of documentation included), including full machining, .030 over pistons, .010 over main bearings, .010 over connecting rod bearings, new intake and exhaust guides, a new cam, timing chain and engine mounts. -The engine is cooled by a new radiator, water pump, thermostat, and an electric fan. -Mated to the rebuilt 1800cc engine is a remanufactured Datsun 280ZX, fully syncro, 5-spd gearbox (see restoration/rebuild images); a luxury that MG never offered for this era. The combination is seamless and results in a spectacular driving experience not often enjoyed in a factory MG. -The shop also went through the electrical system to diagnose and replace any trouble spots. This included upgrading all bulbs, interior and exterior, to brighter and more efficient LEDs. -In addition, the body was thoroughly prepped and resprayed in a stunning deep metallic black at the cost of $12,000, while at the same time all glass and door/trunk seals were removed and replaced. -The soft top was replaced in tan, from Moss Motors, and beautifully offsets the body color. Matching tan leather interior presents very well, as does the rest of the interior, with carpet all being replaced. -Modern tires shroud the perfectly appropriate spoked 'knock-off' wheels. -Original stereo was upgraded to a Pioneer head unit with USB input and two speakers. This vehicle is being listed well below what it took to bring it up to this condition. In addition, data has been showing that the value of these vehicles is going up and this restored specimen is being offered below the national average sale price. The future buyer of this MG will enjoy exciting yet reliable driving and expect years of enjoyment from this driver ready restoration.
